Senior Occupational Therapist

SWAMS provides a variety of health services to Aboriginal people in the South West community. Senior Occupational Therapist (1 FTE) - Base Salary starting at $105, 824 (pro-rata) PLUS Additional Benefits!

 As our Occupational Therapists, you will provide therapy services to clients in the Transition Care Program (TCP).

The major duties include undertaking clinical assessments and occupational therapy interventions with clients of the TCP Program. The Senior Occupational Therapists will contribute to the development of occupational therapy services at SWAMS.  Specific requirements of this position include but are not limited to;

Essential Criteria

  • Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within community, rehabilitation and/or aged care caseloads.
  • Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence-based practice and/or development of treatment protocols.
  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.
  • Able to work cooperatively in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to determine priorities and manage workloads in order to meet agreed timelines and objectives.
  • An understanding of the unique issues affecting and impacting on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

 Note: All candidates must have a current Covid Vaccination Certificate, WA Driver’s License and will be required to undertake a National Police Check prior to beginning employment.

The preferred candidate will be required to provide a clear drug and alcohol screen prior to offer of employment.

Desirable Criteria

  • Aged Care and/or Community Health experience
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
