Health Information Officer


Assists in planning and implementing the health information system for the organisation. Coordinates and monitors the data collection across all clinical programs for program planning, implementation and reporting purposes. Responsible for gathering data for PIP and reporting on all state and federal contracts. Provide Communicare training to new staff and upskill.

Specific requirements of this position include but are not limited to;

Essential Criteria

  • Experience and knowledge in Health information management, statistical analysis and research.
  • Experience and knowledge in clinical information systems applied in a clinical health setting.
  • Experience in management of data (preferably involving large scale datasets).
  • Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills along with an ability to adapt to changing needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise analytical problem solving skills to develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge and expertise in the use of Communicare or similar clinical database system.
  • A relevant qualification in health information management, statistical analysis or research
  • Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services, Occupational Safety and Health and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of Medicare claiming, and the role it plays in a health service

All candidates must have a full COVID-19 vaccination certificate, current WA Driver’s Licence and will be required to undertake a National Police Check prior to beginning employment.

The preferred candidate will be required to provide a clear drug and alcohol screen prior to offer of employment.
